Using vivid colours and a variety of skills, Lydia typically paints the illustrations first before developing the posters digitally. As an arts organization, we have been delighted to continue to support visual art in elevating our concerts and embracing our values of beauty and excellence.

Lydia Avsec is the creative force behind Copilot Design, an independent studio in Victoria specializing in branding, design, and illustration. With over 30 years of experience, Lydia partners with arts organizations and cultural institutions to craft meaningful visual narratives rooted in research, conceptual depth, and artistic sensitivity.
After starting her career in Ottawa, Lydia moved west in 1996, gaining diverse experience in Vancouver agencies before working as an Art Director in Calgary. She returned to British Columbia to reconnect with hands-on design, launching Copilot Design in 2009.
As a solo practitioner, Lydia personally oversees each project, ensuring her signature blend of creativity and thoughtful execution. Her illustrations—often rendered in gouache on illustration board—offer a handcrafted authenticity that stands apart in a digital-heavy world.
