Bass-baritone Tyler Simpson has performed on top opera and concert stages around the world. The 2018-19 season brings debuts with Vancouver Opera for their production of Rossini’s La Cenerentola (Alidoro) and Vancouver Bach Choir for Handel’s Messiah and Durufle’s Requiem, and a return to the Metropolitan Opera for Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta (Bertrand) and Debussy’s Pélleas et Mélisande (Doctor). Highlights of the 2017-18 season included Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro (title role) with Pittsburgh Opera, Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia (Basilio) with Greensboro Opera, performances of Handel’s Messiah with Early Music Vancouver and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and a role debut as Scarpia in Tosca with the Festival Lyrique-en-mer in Brittany, France.
Tyler will appear in our October 13th Duruflé and Bernstein and December 8th Messiah concerts for the 2018-19 season.
