Mezzo soprano Leah Giselle Field is a graduate of Vancouver Opera’s Yulanda M. Faris Young Artists Program. She is a 2017 Vancouver Opera Foundation Amatori bursary recipient and past district winner and regional finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, a finalist for the Jeunesse Musicales Maureen Forrester Award Tour, and a semifinalist in the Marcello Giordani Foundation International Vocal Competition. She is a graduate of the DMA program in Voice and Opera at the University of British Columbia, and holds a MMus in Literature and Performance- Voice from the University of Western Ontario and a BMus in Opera from UBC.
Recent performances include Handel’s Messiah, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Vancouver Bach Choir, Le Nozze di Figaro and Hansel and Gretel with Vancouver Opera, and productions of Luisa Miller, Suor Angelica, and Aida in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and British Columbia. Upcoming engagements include Eugene Onegin with Vancouver Opera and Where the Wild Things Are with the Delta Performance Academy in the Vancouver Opera Festival.
