Featuring a quartet of dazzling soloists from Vancouver, the Vancouver Bach Choir’s 2024 performance of Handel’s Messiah will delight those for whom attending a performance of this oratorio is an annual tradition, as well as those for whom it is a first foray into this celebrated baroque choral gem!
Even though Messiah was first performed for Easter in 1742, it has become synonymous with the Christmas and Holiday season. It would be just as hard to find someone who hasn’t heard the Hallelujah chorus from Handel’s Messiah as to find someone who doesn’t recognize those little ringing glockenspiel notes at the top of Mariah’s hit, “All I want for Christmas”!
