For the first time in our 91 year history, the Vancouver Bach Choir and Children’s Choirs will delight audiences with a festive musical celebration of one of the world’s most adored saints. Britten’s St. Nicolas imbues joy and good cheer. A genuine and heartfelt piece aimed at connecting with young people, the St. Nicolas cantata is scored for multiple choirs, piano duet, organ, strings, percussion, and tenor soloist. The dramatic cantata depicts the life of Saint Nicolas (the patron saint of children seamen, and travelers), his faith, his miracles and his enduring legacy. Initially composed for four separate schools, it is the perfect piece to showcase the talents of our multi-generational choir.
